Specialties

You have twelve points to distribute among as many or as few specialty skills as you see fit (but at least three is almost always warranted). Remember to explain what each specialty entails.

  • Not a Scholar, But a Student: 2. While he in neither particularly learned nor from the upper tiers of society, Vincent does enjoy reading, particularly contemporary literature and classical philosophical or political texts. While it rarely comes up in the field, sometimes this makes for a good ice breaker.
  • Kicking the Rat's Nest: 4. As part of his military training, Vincent has become very adept at scouting and, failing that, reacting quickly to ambushes. Bonus to spotting hidden enemies and if perception is being used to judge who gets to attack first.
  • Mook Horror Show: 3. Fights aren't pretty, and Vincent doesn't try to sugarcoat them. Whenever he dispatches an enemy, Vincent can immediately make an intimidation roll to try to make all other nearby enemies surrender or flee. These rolls have a cumulative bonus of +1 for each enemy dispatched, for a maximum bonus of +3. This bonus resets at the end of a fight scene.
  • The Hunter (Anomalous): The main source of research for Project: Agent Oranje came from old black sites and dead-end investigation leftovers that the Dutch government-in-exile mined for information. Leftovers such as, for example, the dried blood of an unusual desiccated and burnt corpse with elongated canines and a stake in its chest. Regardless of the source, that particular experiment was a success, netting Denmark one of its first 'super soldiers'.
    • Iron Stomach: Vincent can stomach and consume pretty much anything without adverse effects.
    • BRP Processing: While Vincent can derive nutrients from most meats, he can draw a little extra something out of the living or dead flesh of humans, and similarly intelligent creatures. Rather than processing directly into his system, this energy condenses and is stored in his stomach. The scientists dubbed it 'biologically resonant plasma,' though more poetic minds might prefer 'raw animating energy.' Vincent can store up to 7 points of BRP at a time. To replenish it, he makes a bite attack against a valid target and gains BRP points equal to the damage done, rounded down.
    • Auto-regeneration: On his turn, Vincent can expend one BRP point to regain on phealth. Also, if he is unconscious when his turn starts and has BRP stored, he automatically expends one point and regains consciousness as his action that turn.
    • Physical Amplification: When Vincent rolls strength, agility, or melee he can expend up to three BRP to gain a bonus to the roll equal to the points spent. However, the strain on his body deals 0.5 physical damage per point spent.
    • BRP Expulsion: Also, he can condense and regurgitate BRP from his stomach as a raw material. This will probably be entirely useless outside of research scenarios, but who knows. Maybe one day we'll need it for crafting or a spell component or something.
    • Molten Core: Vincent takes a huge amount of BRP and uses it to turn himself into a miniature fusion reactor. This ability expends 7 BRP, and can only be activated directly after Vincent rolls a critical on a Pdef, Strength, Agility, or Melee roll. Vincent immediately takes another turn and closes the distance with one target of his choice. He then makes a Melee attack (or Strength roll if the GM wants Strength to break an object) with a +3 bonus against the target. The damage against the target is doubled. Any BRP Vincent would gain from this attack is instead converted directly into Phealth. He's also giving off massive amounts of heat for this turn, so anything he touches other than his clothes will probably melt or catch fire.
  • The Hunger (Drawback): Unfortunately, the super soldier experiment also had some undesirable side effects on Vincent.
    • Food Chains: The biological changes that went on in Vincent have shifted his body's systems to be far more reliant on a meat-based diet. He can still consume plant matter and the like, but his body will only derive nutrients from meat (specifically things that have or had blood), and he will starve as a normal human if he cannot get any.
    • Empty Furnace: Sometimes, though, not even regular meat will do it. The expenditure of BRP is the only method Vincent's body has of repairing itself, and if he's out of it then his body will not heal over time.
