Steve Sanderson

Basic Info:

Player: Agent Sanderson

Position: Field Agent, mid-long range support

Demeanor: Despite the stereotype of snipers being cold and antisocial, Steve is the type of person that will chat your ears off. He likes to willingly engage in conversations, even if it is a pointless one. Some find him amiable and friendly, while others regard him as chatty and unprofessional, but to him, everyone's a friend.

Nature: Steve can hold grudges for quite a long time. His outwards appearance is half authentic, half a facade - when the situation comes down to it, he is willing to stab anyone in the back as long as it sufficiently benefits him. However, in fears of damaging relationships with others (or "blowing his cover") he almost never does so. His moral compass is also in major need of a fixing.

Description: Steve is on the short side at a height of 5'10", and around 180 pounds. He's got an athletic build but still a small amount of fat here and there, concentrated on his legs and stomach. He has a very plain face with jet-black hair and icy blue eyes, always restlessly watching. A tattoo on his upper right arm, a simple, stylized phoenix, skillfully blended in with (and covered up) a nasty knife scar.

He is typically dressed in dark-coloured clothes, preferring them over ones that are too colourful or stylish. Most common are his navy-blue t-shirts, combat boots, black button-up jackets and symbolic black cargo pants, as well as his ever-present watch.

Specialties

You have twelve points to distribute among as many or as few specialty skills as you see fit (but at least three is almost always warranted). Remember to explain what each specialty entails.

  • Full-Auto Marksman: 5. When Steve is in his "zone", few things can distract him. When he is calm and in position, each fully-automatic shot is as deadly and accurate as if they were fired semi-automatically. +3 to range and perception.
  • Sneaky-Beaky Like: 2. Steve is good at sneaking around, in all sorts of terrains and situations. He may not necessarily have to sneak up on enemies to scout, but it's an extremely valuable skill to have when you're two miles behind enemy lines. +2 to sneak.
  • Survivor: 2. Steve is capable of surviving for longer than average survivors out in the wild, even on extremely low supplies. This helps him majorly as a sniper. +2 to survival.
  • Situational Awareness: 3. If he can sense it, he's already got a solid comprehension for it. No matter if he sees or hears or smells it, he can identify the situation pretty quickly. +2 to perception.

Personal History:

Steve was born on March 21st, 1927 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Born to Howard and Mary Sanderson, he lived his early childhood in relative comfort, never having to worry about the Depression setting in around him. When WWII broke out, he was disappointed by the fact that he's nowhere near old enough to enlist, and would always eye the rifle his father kept in his room with envy and want.

Some months after the end of the war, his home was broken into by robbers while his family was home. While his father was preoccupied with wrestling with one of them, the second one threatened his mother with a knife - but no one noticed young Steve sneaking into his fathers' room, grabbing the rifle and shooting the man in the thigh. Startled and outgunned, the robbers fled. His father decided to train Steve how to shoot a rifle, only to be met with discontent from his mother.

When he was about 19, Steve's mother divorced his father. They kept in contact, however, and Steve's father took Steve in, who, to the disapproval of his father, still did not have a job or a house. He enjoyed staying with his father, who went on to teach him about surviving in the wilderness. His shooting skills grew incredibly fast, as well as other aspects of his "training".

However, only next year his father passed away in an automobile accident. His mother re-married, leaving Steve with only a small amount of money and assets. Heartbroken, he went on to enlist in the army, soon joining up with the Fourth Canadian Division, and assigned to a platoon as their sniper.

The most interesting part of his life began five years later, when he was deployed to the northern part of Ontario on reports of "flying saucers" terrorizing small towns. However, when they arrived, the towns were void of people - and filled with alien life-forms, who attacked the platoon, leaving Steve one of only three survivors. They were forced back into a bank vault, and waited for death.

A couple of days later, rescue came. Identifying themselves as "The Foundation", the men offered Steve a position in their ranks, which he gladly accepted due to the significantly higher pay, and his resentment towards the Army for not rescuing them on-time. The other two soldiers declined the offer, and was later terminated. Steve now works with Psi-7 ("Home Improvement") to investigate and contain anomalies, on behalf of the Foundation.
