Demeanor: Acts like someone extremely comfortable in being professional, polite, and courteous inside of a business environment sometimes to an almost lazy or patronizing degree. Seems to put weight into what people say and always enjoys to hear other points of view.

Nature: Shira’s someone whose been around the block enough times to wear a trench into the cement and the dirt beneath it. She’s been in the business of private security for over twenty years and has seen her fair share of action on both sides of the Veil as a result of her employment with Novavida and other freelance work. Her interests are largely self-driven but she is tied to a personal dogma that binds her to the contracts she accepts, including her assignment to the Foundation despite her apathy towards their goals.

Which is not to say that she opposes the Foundation for any ideological reason. If anything she does support the Foundation’s efforts to guarding humanity from the horrors that exist, but to Shira it’s just business. It has to be. Soldiers like her aren’t meant to accept any kind of creed except their own and to do otherwise undermines her role as a soldier for hire. It’s hard to find work when you start choosing sides. That isn’t to say she lacks a moral compass though. She just doesn’t bother to involve herself in complex ideological arguments when it doesn’t involve her guidelines and prefers to be a passive observer in situations like that and will leave the issue of who’s right to whoever has acquired her services first.

Description: A 5’10 woman in her mid-40s composed largely of sun-touched skin and whipcord muscle. Has a physique similar to that of an Olympic swimmer and moves with a smooth efficiency that could make one think she’s constantly conserving her energy. Wears her jet black hair (that's starting to grey here and there) more often than not in a braid that meets the top of her shoulder blades. Her features are pronounced as a result of her fitness, her chin and cheekbones sharp enough to cut paper, and her eyes a dark brown. Attire around the Site most often consists of business attire in the form of various suits. Attire out on missions varies case by case. Speaks with a Middle Eastern accent that one could discern is Israeli in origin if they have the know-how.

  • Just A Little Pick Me Up: 2. In her youth, Shira was a test subject in a series of clinical trials for Novavida involving genetic recombination. The purpose behind the project was an old one: To create a better soldier. Novavida thought that recombining human DNA with the DNA of certain animals they would be able to introduce traits advantageous for soldiers. Sharper vision, faster reflexes, pack cooperation, etc. While the trials that Shira was a part of were a success the original techniques used were created in the 1950s before molecular genetics were fully understood even by an anomalous biomedical entity like Novavida. As a result, the improvements to Shira have faded as she’s aged despite repeated attempts to try and slow the decline. As of 1980, the improvements to her genetic structure have all but faded altogether, only becoming apparent when they're stimulated using a serum dedicated to the task. The serum is a mixture of a standard Novavida combat cocktail given to most security agents for use along with a viral stimulant that reinvigorates Shira's genome. The serum does come with risks and limitations though, such as being dangerous to administer multiple doses in a short-period and also ill advisable to administer the serum during non-combat scenarios. The nature of the serum is that of a stimulant, so administering it during calmer times may result in jitters, faster respiration, and a quickened heart-rate.
    • Shira's serums are a combat enhancement injection tailored to her that she can administer to herself to gain a boost to a few stats. She only carries two at a time, each serum only lasting between 5-10 minutes.
  • Reactionary: 2. Shira back in her day specialized in hand-to-hand combat due to both natural talent and the genetic adjustments that heavily boosted her reflexes. Since those have decayed though she’s largely left with her intuitive combat knowledge.
    • Functions as a +2 to Acrobatics with regards to dodging melee attacks from humanoid enemies and then a +1 to Melee versus that enemy if damage is successfully evaded. Does not stack.
  • Appropriate Force: 3. Part of Shira’s doctrine is the use of symmetrical force. Professionals only use what’s needed to finish the job, no more no less. To use less than that means you came unprepared and need to get better at preparing for the worst. To use more than that is a waste of resources and a sign that you aren’t confident in your skill.
    • Functions as a property change to each class of weapons whenever Shira uses a weapon of the same class as another enemy. There are however, a few exceptions.
      • Melee weapons cannot be used against Ranged weapons of the same class but Ranged weapons can be used against Melee weapons of the same class. Don’t bring knives to gunfights.
      • Unarmed, while considered a Light weapon, is in its’ own class for this spec. Shooting an unarmed person to death with a small pistol is not symmetrical and neither is trying to fight someone wielding a knife when you only have your fists.
      • Explosives are exempt from this spec.
      • Anomalous individuals and creatures can/will often have to be judged on a case-by-case basis. Combating a zombie with the strength of the damned would probably warrant firearms even if the zombie is not wielding any weapons.
    • Unarmed: When Shira hits an unarmed attack, the damage she does becomes a minimum damage threshold for unarmed attacks against her until her next turn. So if she does 3 damage, she will not take any damage if an opponent rolls a 1 or 2 for unarmed damage.
    • Light Weapons: Shira is counted as automatically meeting one of the two requirement minimum required for sneak attacks.
    • Normal Weapons: Normal Ranged weapon can be used as a Light Melee weapon (This does not class them as Light Weapons for the purposes of this spec). Normal melee weapon can be used as a Light Ranged weapon (This does not class them as Light Weapons for the purposes of this spec), but only once because you just threw a sword.
    • Heavy Weapons: On a critical hit with an attack (A roll of: +,+,+,+), roll 2d10 for the damage.
  • Around The Block: 1: Shira's been around the block more than once when it comes to Business. There are a number of businessmen/women who try their damnedest to screw over potential security advisors like her for every cent and she's had to learn how they operate in order to get by.
    • Functions as a +1 to Insight and Logic involving business transactions.

Around The Site Wear/Plainclothes:

  • Glock 17 w/ shoulder rig: (Improved Light) Austrian-make polymer pistol that fires 9x19 Parabellum. Known for reliability, durability, and ease of use. Shira's had the gun reinforced to take higher pressure loads and usually uses +P rounds as a result. Carried with two (2) spare magazines. Standard matte grey finish. Acquired because of the above features.
  • AKM Type 1 Bayonet w/ scabbard: (Light) Russian-made steel combat knife. Most often kept clipped to Shira's shoulder rig but will be clipped to webbing or kept in a boot if called for. Acquired during the Vietnam War.
  • Suit Of The Day: Shira keeps a variety of suits that range in style. Some are flat-out tailored men's business-wear that looks 50s in origin, some are women's pantsuits with shoulderpads, some are just flat-out kooky leisure suits.
  • Lightweight Kevlar Ballistic Vest: A Kevlar vest designed to be worn under clothes. Provides at least some protection against shrapnel, small caliber handguns, and meager protection against anything else. (No mechanical effect)
  • Wallet containing IDs, business cards, and cash in USD.
  • Foundation-issued and encrypted handheld radio
  • Leather gloves
  • Necklace composed of a fine silver chain. Hanging from it are marred dog tags, a small silver Star of David, and a steel locket. The locket contains a picture of a small number of soldiers standing in front of a dusty building.
  • Padded, steel cigarette case that houses her serum syringes. They're hypo-autoinjectors that can be reloaded with serum cartridges. Novavida-design.

  • All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment (A.L.I.C.E.): Infantry equipment carrying system that contains a variety of pockets, pouches, containers, and straps to carry a variety of equipment. This includes magazine containers, a canteen pouch, suspenders to hand grenades or knives, first aid case, entrenchment tool carrying case, etc.
  • Primary: IMI 5.56 SAR Galil: (Normal) Carbine variant of the Israeli service rifle. Designed to be a middle-ground between the rugged reliability of the Soviet AK-47 and the accuracy of the American M16. Features 35-round magazines, an aluminum folding stock, and a bottle opener. Normally carried because of the overall versatility of assault rifles.
  • Secondary: IMI Mini-Uzi: (Normal) Machine pistol chambered in 9x19 Parabellum. Great firepower in a small package. Features an automatic rate of fire of 600 RPM, a small profile, a skeletal stock, threading for a sound suppressor, and takes a variety of magazine sizes. Shira loads 25 round magazines. Normally carried as an extra bit of firepower that can be hidden in a briefcase.

    • Franchi SPAS-12: (Normal) A versatile 12-gauge shotgun that can be used in semi-automatic for normal operation or pump-action for specialized shells that are under-pressured. Usually used whenever specialized loads are needed along with the overall stopping power of a twelve gauge.
    • Dragunov SVD: (Normal) A highly-accurate and reliable rifle developed from the famous AK-47. Semi-automatic and makes for a convenient long-range DMR and medium-range rifle. Typically used when Shira needs to fill a longer-range combat role even if it's not her forté. Acquired while she participated in the Vietnam War and has the wear and damage that corresponds with it.
    • MP5SD: (Light) German-made integrally suppressed sub-machine gun perfect for use in clandestine operations and covert-ops. Designed for use with standard 9x19mm Parabellum rounds. Acquired from Novavida for body-guarding jobs due to its' low penetration power.
    • Colt Model 635 (Colt 9mm SMG): (Normal) A 9x19mm variant of the Colt M16 assault rifle based on the design of the Colt Commando carbine. Convenient for close-range engagements because of its short length, low recoil, and high accuracy. Also kept with a detachable suppressor and loads Uzi magazines (which Shira has a lot of) with a small modification. Purchased for a lighter-weight alternative to her Galil.
