Personal History:

Born on July 14, 1915 in Greenwood, British Columbia of Canada to a legal aid and a city engineer. He went to a private school for 6 years before, during which time he made many friends and enemies. When it comes to friends, he somehow ended up with distinctly more female ones than males. Despite this, he only had two crushes, both ended up rejecting him in the most overt way possible. His enemies spawned from his friends as, while he had plenty of friends they were not all "good" friends. In time, his former friends repeatedly threatened him and made false accusations.

After repeated talks with school administration, Ryan's parents pulled him from the school and began loosely homeschooling him. Loosely meaning he went to once a week co-ops with other "homeschoolers." During his time homeschooling, he also picked up German and learned it to the level of a native speaker. Over the next 6 years, Ryan began to develop close friendships with a few people in that group, specifically Bertha Naumann.

Now 19, Ryan begins college focused on an engineering degree just like his father. Paying his way through college on lumber jobs helped build his physique, but crippled his ability to get through school. His college dragged on to the point that he abandoned his degree. Over the next five years, Ryan worked his way through a lumber company, slowly adding to his wealth. In the last 2 years, he re-encountered Bertha Naumann, whom he began to court.

On March 3 in 1939, they finally married, only to be separated once Ryan joined the Canadian army in October the same year. The next years tested his mettle, skill, and moral code as fought in the Italian campaign until the end of the war. He was usually deployed carrying spare ammo or special equipment and tended to hang back and near his fellow soldiers to support them when they required such items. He was not gun shy though and made sure to identify potential targets and eliminate them with proficiency.

After the war, Ryan returned home to his wife. In June of 1946, his wife, Bertha, was killed in a bar where Ryan had gotten drunk and started a fight with members of the Canadian mafia. During the fight, Bertha had attempted to get between Ryan and the mafia members only to be killed on accident. The mobsters opted to leave Ryan beat only half to death and with his dead wife.

For a time, Ryan entered a melancholy state, attempting to focus on work to take his mind of his wife. He had nearly kicked his alcoholism when the Foundation came knocking on his door with a job offer. His combat experience had put him on the list for potential Foundation operatives, but his recent loss cut most of his ties to the outside, thus making him an even riper pick. On December 19, 1953, Ryan Jacobs officially became a member of the Foundation. Since then, he has worked as a field operative responsible for target identification and the support of other agents in the field.
