Demeanor: Mildly aloof. Honest. Strongly dislikes being still, and is prone to impatience when not out on the field- whilst simultaneously being incredibly level-headed. His impatience can often be misread as him being uppity. Definitely stubborn.

Nature: Accustomed to thinking for himself rather than others; a solitary agent as opposed to a team player- however he is unafraid to direct people if needs be, to ensure things are done his way (Read: the best way, he thinks). Whether or not these actions always coincide with his employer’s wishes is debatable. Highly rational and logical even under duress.

Description: Tall; lithe, but with underlying muscle. Pale-skinned and rugged-looking, despite softer facial features. Regardless of this he doesn’t look particularly intimidating, and rather, leans more towards a neutral/calm expression. Has dark hair and soft, pale-brown-yellow eyes.

  • Locksmith: 3. Ronan’s speciality is getting into places and things he really shouldn’t be able to, and like any self-respecting infiltrator he has considerable skill in breaking a lock be it for a door, hatch, or something else- he’s seen it all. +3 to ENG when rolling to lockpick his way into a door, box, etc. Whether or not this can be applicable to certain locks is decided by GM fiat.
  • What’s Yours Is Mine: 3. Making off with things that aren’t his is also, unsurprisingly, something he has a knack for. Whether it’s picking pockets or grabbing a shiny from a particularly nice looking case, he can do it in such a way that no-one would suspect a thing. Hopefully. +3 to SNK in scenarios that include item retrieval, such as pickpocketing or item retrieval from more conspicuous locations.
  • Is that a gun in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?: 3. Ronan's time spent picking pockets has his eye trained to detect the drag and weight of certain items, even under cover of clothing and armour. +3 to PERC for weapons/inventory checks against opponents.
  • Deus Ex/Infiltrator: 3. Getting in and out fast is a must, especially when trying to get places you shouldn't be, and leaving those places with things you shouldn't have. +3 to AGI when entering or exiting a location/making a getaway requiring running/climbing. He cannot be engaged in combat in order to use this spec. Limited usage of 2 times per run.

Personal History:

Ronan James Callaghan was born in 1919 to a particularly well-off family living in the east of the United States — his father, an Irishman, had married into this wealthy Italian-American family, who had (and still have) strong ties to Marshall, Carter and Dark.

From a young age, Ronan was taught that his eventual inherited wealth was what made him so important as the eldest sibling — a sentiment he wholly disagreed with. His denial of his status from a young age lead to a lot of backlash from his family, who were adamant on branding him with an upper-class label.
As a result of this he often spent most of his time away from the family household, turning his nose up at formal education — his interests instead fell to tinkering with scrap he salvaged from junkyards and whatever discarded objects he could find.

Salvaging shinies soon just wasn't enough for the young boy, and he eventually took to using both his status and his quiet nature to get away with stealing things he fancied instead.

He was later hired by MC&D themselves as an 'acquisitions officer', in their terms, which was in reality glorified terminology for a well-paid thief. He was given locations, whatever equipment to fuel his means, and he got the job done — and was particularly notorious for doing so cleanly and efficiently.

It was not a recognition of skill that landed Ronan among the Foundation's ranks — rather, a botched retrieval job left him within their custody, and he was given a choice: face incarceration for his actions, or put his skills to use with the Foundation itself.

Ronan, claiming no strong loyalty to anyone but himself at the time, took on the offer — preferring to be doing what he does best as opposed to sitting in a cell somewhere else.
