Personal History:

Robert Highsmith was born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1910 to a farmer and a mother. He went to school in University of Alabama in 1928, only able to do the generosity of an uncle on his mother's side. Despite this, he was mocked and bullied by his elite classmates for being less financially well off then his wealthy peers. Robert did not interact with classmates, and he rarely talked to others outside of his immediate family.

In 1929, the Great Depression began, and it affected Robert's family the most. Robert himself was relatively unharmed due to his position as a student at a large university, but this did not save the rest of his family from a life of poverty.

In 1933, he earned his degree in physiology. He began to work in the field with many other scientists, and he was making many discoveries. During this time, he learned of a new, dangerous ideology, that had spread its wings across Europe: Fascism. The Germans and the Italians had just risen to power. He heard of the horror stories of brownshirts and blackshirts, marching through the streets, harming and beating any of those who opposed them.

In December 1936, the Spanish Civil war had begun. Robert had found his chance to fight against the Fascist Franco, and to fight for the majority left-wing government. He left the states and was taken to Spain. There, he was stationed at the anarchist majority state controlled Catalonia in Spain, in the hills of Zaragoza. There, he suffered many fights with the Fascists, and had protected many of his comrades.

In 1937 in May, Robert had become the victim of a raid on his apartment by the Spanish police force, searching for "secret trotskyists". He was not arrested, but this event made him start to question the government he was supposedly fighting for. In 1937, he left back for America after the government had called the political party he was apart of (POUM) was made illegal, and all members of it were thrown in jail. He returned to his quit his old job and began seeking a new line of work.

One day, a man comes up to him to tell him about a job he needs done. Robert, desperate for work, accepts it in 1946.. This was the the first time Robert had ever interacted with the Foundation. Since then, he has worked as a security officer, protecting Sites from intruders.
