Quinn Harrison

Basic Info:

Player: CrowCorvus, or Crow

Position: Field Medic

Demeanor: Quinn is soft spoken, they do their best to blend into the background, at least until they get comfortable with their surroundings. Once comfortable they get more talkative, but they don't say much to strangers

Nature: Once comfortable with someone Quinn's personality shines through almost like a supernova. Those close to them know their personal beliefs that led them to hiding from most of society and getting a job with such a strange organization. They've found solace in the strangeness they deal with daily with the Foundation.

Description: The first impression one gets upon seeing Quinn could be best described as just the word gray. Quinn is slim and androgynous with very slightly masculine facial features. A strong nose with just a hint of an upward curve at the tip and shaggy ear-length hair that is a brown so pale as to be almost gray. 5'6" tall, They don't get much sun, and so are fairly pale, and tend to dress in old but serviceable clothing, washed so many times that it's hard to guess the original color. They always have a lot of pockets on them, often full of bits of string and interestingly colored rocks. When knowingly under scrutiny they freeze up, but otherwise they'll have their hands deep in their pockets, fidgeting with whatever is available and ending up with a big tangle of string and odds and ends.

  • A Wimp's Guide to Surviving Basic Training: They were bullied both emotionally and physically during basic training, and learned early on how to run and hide, and how to know when to do it. (+5 to Agility when trying to stay away from combat (does not apply to dodging))
  • Who was that again?: Their combination of ambiguous looks, drab outfits, and easily forgettable face makes it easier for them to blend into a crowd, and harder for people to remember who they were. (+3 to Stealth when hiding among large groups of people)
  • Help a Comrade Out: Their communist leanings mean they are quick to help others, and have become fairly decent at leading through example, inspiring others to help when they can (+4 to Persuasion when asking for something completely altruistic (Does not benefit Quinn))

  • Odds and ends, whole pockets full of just string and interesting small rocks, bits of strange metal, all of these tangled together in weird knotted nets they fidget with casually.

Personal History:

Born to loving parents Miriam and Howard Harrison on November 26 1925, Quinn was born Quentin Arthur Harrison, a fact they don't advertise much. They had a decent childhood in Brooklyn, growing up in a predominantly Jewish neighborhood. The depression hit everyone hard, but the community around them somehow muddled through together, scraping by on what they could and sharing what they needed. With a community like this it's not surprising that they joined the Communist party at a young age.

They turned 18 as World War II was nearing its close and got drafted a few months after their birthday. Basic training was awful, their previously feminine haircut was buzzed short and they suffered mocking at the hands of fellow soldiers for their slight build and feminine demeanor, but they learned valuable skills, and as soon as possible left the general troops to specialize in combat medicine, the feeling of having those men's lives in their hands both a rush and a responsibility, and giving them an almost smug satisfaction whenever they found someone from basic who had tormented them in their care.

After the war ended, Quinn returned without too many scars, and started to become more active politically, joining their local chapter of the Communist party. They were outspoken and quickly became a local leader, but as the 50's arrived and the red scare set in, they were not only put under scrutiny, but received threats. Fearing for their livelihood they left the United States and traveled through Europe to find somewhere to settle down. That's when they ran into their first anomaly. Their coolness under pressure and willingness to help civilians rather than run for safety caught the eye of the Foundation and they were offered a job, which they accepted gladly. Being a trans Jewish communist means that it's a rarity that they find themselves not the strangest entity in a room, and they welcome the strangeness of the foundation and its anomalies.

  • Yiddish
  • Bits of Hebrew
  • Scattered bits of German, French, Russian, and Italian, enough mostly to say they don't speak it very well, surrender, ask for surrender, or ask where the bathroom is.

Quinn goes by they/them pronouns and generally answers questions about gender snarkily or cryptically (ie: "Are you a boy or a girl?" "Yes")
