Peter Fischer

Basic Info:

Player: Recursive Recursion

Position: Field Medic (Serves as Nurse when not on missions)

Demeanor: The one word that best describes Nurse Peter Fischer is jaded. He's endlessly cynical, tirelessly snarky, and annoyingly vague when he doesn't have to disclose information. Despite this, anyone who's willing to peel back the layers of sour armor will find that he's a bit depressed, with little to no sense of self worth, largely because he feels like he will always let people down.

Nature: Peter prefers to go by his last name, Fischer, though he will not object to being called 'Nurse'. Whether it's part of his cynical nature to play Devil's advocate or if he just enjoys doing it remains to be seen, but he is always the first person to point out flaws in the plan. When speaking to other people, he tries to remain blank, and devoid of emotion, so he doesn't get attached to people, as he is afraid he will lose them. Extremely afraid of losing people he knows, as he did his parents. Also due to this event, has an intense distrust of anything or anyone anomalous. Shares the GOC's philosophy of outright destruction of anomalous objects.

Description: Nurse Fischer has dark brown hair, with black eyes. He wears square glasses to help correct his astigmatism (though he can see pretty well without them). Outwardly, he fits the stereotypical appearance of the average doctor or nurse, wearing a white lab coat, pocket protectors and all. On his belt, he wears a clip that holds his medical kit, which he insists on carrying at all times. His voice is typically a dull monotone, and if he shows any emotion that isn't sarcastic, it's usually a sign that he's pretty shaken up.

Specialty Skills:

You have twelve points to distribute among as many or as few specialty skills as you see fit (but at least three is almost always warranted). Remember to explain what each specialty entails.

  • MEDIIIIC!: 5. Nurse Fischer always keeps a medical pack on hand when going on a mission, and at least a few medical supplies even when he isn't. As a nurse, he is also pretty good at using them, and familiar with human (and some animal) anatomy. (Medical, or academics when dealing with Medical-related stuff.)
  • Bard skills: 3. Fischer carries around a sack of boost-patches obtained from the Manna Charitable Foundation which when applied to the skin of an ally1 gives them a bonus dependent on the patch used. The following patches are available: Pdef, Mdef, Str, Agil, Perc, Mel, and Rng. When a patch is applied, the bonus is given for the next three rolls of that stat. The bonus gets weaker with successive application. First is 1d3, second is 1d2, third is a flat 1. A patch can only be applied after ten minutes have passed since the third use of the last boosted stat2. Not to be used in soft-RP. Deductions/timer are reset after the run ends.
  • Just shoot the sonnova gun!: 4. Even a support character has to take care of himself. Nurse Fischer began taking firing lessons after being taken in by the GOC. He's gotten pretty good with a variety of weapons, but is best with his good old Hakim Rifle (Swedish Ljungman AG 42 series). (Applies to ranged when he's got his Hakim Rifle.)

And everything that they keep in their room at Site 19. Anything that's not listed here or in the section above will be difficult for the character to retrieve.

  • His Rifle
  • A journal detailing his experiences with the GOC
  • A book of Scandinavian mythology, specifically focusing on that of trolls.

Personal History:

Born to a wealthy family in Sweden, Peter Fischer was one of the few survivors of a raid on his small town by a pack of trolls, which had recently been flushed out of their ancestral habitat by increasing human population in the area. Peter was found in the wreckage of his house, alongside his (dead) father and mother. He and his fellow survivors were relocated to America, with the Manna Charitable Foundation providing relief and support. To this day, he feels responsible for his parents' death, feeling that he could have saved them, which was the main factor that influenced his decision to become a medic. After graduating medical school, which he paid for with his massive inheritance, he returned to Sweden with a small group of hired guns in an attempt to find and take down the pack of trolls. What he did not count on, however, was encountering the GOC in the same area, who had become aware of the troll pack. Joining forces with the GOC, Peter quickly put himself to use in providing medical assistance to injured troops. Peter was also able to provide strategical support using an extensive knowledge of Scandanavian folklore. Having shown his proficiency in both medical technology and dealing with anomalous entities, Peter was offered a position with the GOC, which he accepted. With the GOC's quasi-takeover of the Foundation, Fischer quickly found himself transferred to Psi-7.

Miscellaneous:

Has a secret soft spot for kittens, puppies, or rabbits.
Learned to speak English during his time in America. He tries to hide his Swedish accent the best he can.
Knows quite a bit about Scandinavian folklore. Who would have thought that trolls really did turn to stone in the sunlight?
He is 32 years old.

XP:

Noll.
