  • The Vision: 4 Because he was under constant pressure to finish in time, Matt developed the ability to visualize his circuit boards before even starting work on them; this has helped him many times while on short deadlines. This includes other things, for example, paths, trajectories and machine inner workings. (+4 Engineering when working on electronic parts of machinery containing a circuit board)
  • The Eye of the Hawk: 3 Because he spent half of his life working on microscopic levels, Matt is used to always keeping an eye out for details out of the ordinary, so he has developed his eyesight to levels nearly corresponding those of fighter pilots. (+3 Perception when doing something time-dependent (5 or less minute window for work, non-combat only))
  • The Golden Hand: 5 Because of his understanding of machine circuitry, Matt feels comfortable around advanced machines and sees no threat in them, but a reliable companion. (+5 MDEF when encountering threats of electronic origins)

Personal History:

Born in 1925 in New York, Matt Edmonds was always a spoiled rich kid. His father, the owner of an iron smelting factory, has always given him and his mother his full attention. Matt just had to ask, and he was given. This hadn't changed at all until 1947, when the factory went into bankruptcy through some stock market transactions, not thought through by his father. His mother died soon after as a result of worrying about her son. Evading the WWII draft because of his father's connections, the now at-university Matt had to live off of his father's reserves of money. He could no longer afford most of the luxuries he had access to before. His professors were ruthless, criticizing every step he would take on his path to becoming a man. He had developed his numerous skills during these times, because it was required of him to be fast-working, precise and keep a cool head under pressure. His father got drunk night after night, and one day he didn't come back home. After his father's body was found in a ditch by a road, Matt was crushed. He started drinking profusely because he couldn't grasp the idea that his father was gone. His biggest support in his merciless life. He thought that this was planned for him, you can't have everything and lose nothing. He took the little of money he had left and slipped through University, day by day. University had changed him, he was no longer a spoiled brat, he was a self-sustaining man. After getting his diploma as a certified electronic engineer, he had been employed by the electronic giant IBM. After a few years of work, his achievements in this company were noticed by the Foundation, who was lacking someone of his skills at the time. Since then, he has been fairly happy with his work in the Foundation and has developed an extreme interest in machine-based anomalies.
