Marcus Beaumont

Player: Lavender

Position: General Surgeon/Field Medic [Delta-4]

Demeanor: Generally kind and friendly to those he meets, Marcus puts in effort to try and make friends with everyone he interacts with. He may seem a bit (very) naive at times and perhaps a tad bit too inexperienced to be in this line of work but regardless he's here so DEAL WITH IT. He's all around just pleasant to talk to despite his somewhat childish behaviour at times.

Nature: At heart, Marcus is an emotionally driven idiot. He'll often make the less logical decision because to him it seems right, like it's something he shoud do. He's incredibly empathetic and caring, displaying concern for both friends and people he's just met often, in the end he just wants to make people happy. He has the habit of trying to surround or distract himself with work so he doesn't haven't to think about other problems or issues, this is an unhealthy habit which often leads to him not eating much and not conversing with other people as much as he'd like to. He's a bit too sensitive and emotion driven for an adult, he knows that. Regardless he still keeps these habits and some childlike tendencies which make him seem a bit younger then he actually is.

Description: Standing at 5'6" with a slim build, Marcus is not chubby but he's not particularly muscular either. He has short black hair and bright blue eyes, along with a lack of facial hair and delicate features. He can be regularly seen wearing t-shirts and oversized hoodies along with either blue or grey coloured gloves.

Personal History:

Marcus Beaumont (originally named Marquis) was born on March 6th, 1950 to Thomas and Carrie Beaumont. He and his mother resided in Paris, France for a good portion of his life. Thomas remained absent from Marc’s life due to his profession as a Foundation agent, seeing his son for some short months at a time every few years.

Marcus had an uneventful early life, up until the loss of his mother at age 9. At this loss, the care of Marcus fell to his aunt Camille. Not his father, as Thomas remained at his profession after the death of his wife. The indifference Camille felt towards Marcus attributed to his outlook on the world- but not his chosen profession. Marcus wanted to follow in the footsteps of his mother to become a doctor. This was a passion that he did, in fact, achieve.

In 1979- Marcus was at the scene of a hostage and live bomb situation as a medic alongside the GIGN. A deal was struck between the criminals and the GIGN- medical treatment for one of the critically injured criminals in exchange for the deactivation of the explosives. Marcus volunteered himself to give aid, and was sent in. However, Marcus failed in his treatment as he did not stem the bleeding before the criminal went into hypovolemic shock. With no available methods to resolve this issue at the time, the patient died and Marcus failed. As such, the bomb was detonated as the suspects escaped.

Marcus survived the explosion, however he was forced to live with guilt over his failure. He couldn’t save his patient, he couldn’t save the hostages, and his failure resulted in the bombs detonation. To add to his burden, his hands were severely damaged in the explosion. While he regained the usage of them, they were left horrendously scarred.

Marcus, after his recovery, returned to his career in medicine. In 1982, Thomas Beaumont passed away. The final piece of his legacy was a letter of recommendation to the Foundation for his son, Marcus. This, coupled with Marc’s medical skill resulted in his eventual hiring into Delta-4 at Site-15.

Loot

  • The Clean Gun: Kills 99.9999999999% of germs! A small pistol-sized tool that looks kind of like a phaser, was cooked up by the biomedical branch and a guy from cognitohazards to use ultraviolet and sonic pulses to disrupt viral and bacterial growth and clean and sterilize surfaces. Can be shone on an open wound to help sterilize it. Will likely slow the spread of anomalous diseases, but may not protect against them entirely. Science or Medical to use.
