An illustration of Maple Leaf.

Player: SpookyBee

Position: Combat specialist

Demeanor: Rough around the edges, crude, aggressive

Nature: Exactly as her demeanor describes, Maple is a crude, rude, sass machine with a side of fun-loving extreme adventure-lust. She's one to take risks of great reward and little resource, going balls-to-the-wall in most situations where a bloody nose and busted knuckle will be involved.

Description: Standing 5'4" and weighing in around 123lbs, Maple is as pale as the grave, her skin being unnaturally light, and she's got a curved figure with a decent enough build of someone of her activity level. She's got tattoo on her wrist reading ML-58 Her build is rather tomboyish, and she's got a freckled face with bright red eyes, and black hair with a crimson sheen.

Specialties
  • Ripper-Tosser 4. Maple's a tough girl, and she's made up for her poor shooting skills with one hell of a throwing arm. With a good, power-filled whip, Maple can send a hatchet or even a full-sized axe down-range with surprising precision and relatively unsurprising deadliness.

Mechanics for Ripper-Tosser

Once per run Maple may utilize a massive amount of physical strength to hurl her currently-equipped melee weapon as an RNG attack with a +2 bonus.

On a successful strike, the axe becomes lodged. Targets may roll STR vs. her previous RNG result to attempt to dislodge it. In the event that they roll equal to her own result, they manage to remove it at the cost of causing greater damage to themselves. This is equal to a full point of PHEALTH damage.

While the axe is still embedded in her target, it causes balance disruption and great amounts of physical pain, slowing targets pretty significantly. Targets stuck with her axe suffer a -1AGI debuff.

  • Gang Spook: 3. Maple's lived a rough-and-tumble life, fighting her way through it with fists and words with equal use, and sometimes even mixing the two! She's not one to avoid getting her hands dirty if she needs information, or if she's just trying to spook a combatant (Maple may gain a +3 INTIM bonus vs. enemies she's struck successfully in melee.)
  • Pretty Average: 3. Maple, while tough and gritty, is a relatively unassuming-looking woman. Blending in isn't even the least bit difficult for her. With a nice dress, a vest, and some makeup, Maple can blend right into the crowd and disappear without a trace. (+3 bonus to Bluff when wearing a disguise)
  • Night Life: 2. An avid party-goer, Maple spent a lot of her youth hanging out with big crowds and loud music. Granted, she is still in her youth. Maple is quite perceptive in rooms full of people and can find just what she's looking for whatever it might be, given she has the time. (+2 bonus to PERC while undetected in crowds.)

Soulsealer Axe
A thaumaturgically-enhanced fire axe with a blade and handle coated in luminescent blue runes, the blade dipped in a silver-iron alloy. After a full bathe in liquefied silver, the handle itself has had the cracks and slivers in it filled with crystallized silver. This weapon can strike incorporeal entities, and affects supernatural beings as though they were mere mortals, I.E. a vampire struck with this weapon would feel and suffer an injury as if he were just a human. This weapon can be recalled to Maple's hand if she's within ten feet of it. State: 22% fed, Feral and lively, Runed
Scriptures Of Primal Rage
Maple ignites her pent-up rage and enters a state of magically-fueled fury with the assistance of Thaumaturgic rune tattoos lining her body, breaking her free of any mental effects and relentlessly assaults her target. This effect lasts 1d4 turns, and Maple gains +2 in STR and MEL, but suffers from -2 in PDEF as her body overloads with thaumaturgic energy. As well, once this effect runs its course, Maple falls into a fatigue lasting the duration of turns her Fury lasted. Additionally, if Maple rolled the maximum turn-count, 4, she instead falls fully unconscious from the mass exertion of energy, for the next 4 turns. While she's in a state of Fury, Maple will attack with complete, single-minded ferocity, only with the intention to destroy and kill regardless of original orders, until either her target is destroyed, or until her Fury effect runs its course and she suffers its consequences.

Personal History:

Born Samantha Fayette in 1931, Maple was raised in the slums of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with a single mother by the name of Barbara Fayette. In 1940 Maple's mother fell ill to heart cancer, and Maple was forced to do labor for local gangs to help pay for her mother's medication.

In 1942, Maple's mother passed away and she was left in the hands of a lesser known gang that assisted local hospitals in illegally obtaining medicine that they couldn't afford legitimately. While the cause itself was wholesome, Maple was injected into the more gritty part of life, eventually being taught how to hustle and interrogate people for either money to afford more supplies, or tips on where to find supply drop locations used by other gangs might be hidden.

In 1953, Maple and a few of her colleagues found themselves at a supply site where they would end up in a confrontation between the GOC and the Foundation where both of her friends would be killed in the crossfire. With both groups attempting to secure an anomalous medical shipment sent to one of Philadelphia's lower-traffic docks from an unknown source.

After the confrontation the GOC fled, leaving the Foundation to scour the rest of the area to find her hiding. Maple was brought back to a nearby Foundation facility where she was offered a choice of either amnestics and a return to her old life, or a new home where she could work for the Foundation.

Wanting to leave her life in the slums behind, Maple signed on without a thought. Right away, Maple was given apprenticeship to one of her facility's top espionage specialists where she took to infiltrating and observing operations undertaken by other groups of interest.

In 1956, Maple was promoted to the status of a proper Field Agent, and two years later she was transferred to the Italian Foundation facility as an attachee to MTF Psi-7.

Miscellaneous:

  • To make up for her poor aim, Maple had a custom machine-pistol build off of the housing of her father's pistol, a Beretta m1951. As far as she cares, sprays of bullets make up for bad aim.
  • Once a month, Maple takes a plane to Philadelphia to visit her mother's grave.
  • After the death of her mother, she'd legally had her name changed to Maple Leaf.
  • Maple reads a lot of books about vampires now, particularly on body-care and how one takes care of such pale skin, after the clone incident.
