Personal History:

Magnus O'Donovan was born in 1929, in Dublin, Ireland to a professor of Theology and a stay at home mother. While his mother was uneducated, she was literate and taught Magnus how to read at the age of two. Magnus and his father would frequently visit a nearby lake, where Magnus gained his love of the marine. During one of these trips, Magnus and his father were involved in the murder of another man vacationing on the lake. Magnus' father was convicted of this crime and was sentenced to twenty-four years in prison, losing his post at Trinity College.

At the age of seven, Magnus and his mother moved to Balbriggan. His mother scraped out a living as a maid, and occasionally as a prostitute to make ends meet. Because of this, and his father's imprisonment, Magnus tended to be bullied by many of the other street children. Due to these daily scraps, Magnus gained a great many fighting skills, rivaled only by his mother's tutelage when she had the time. Magnus, when not fighting, also frequented the home of the village elder to hear his tales. One of these tall tales included a monster at the lake in which his father had been accused of murder. To this day, Magnus still believes there is an SCP in Balbriggan Lake, but has found nothing.

At the age of 12, Magnus became a pugilist, fighting in underground tournaments. Training frequently, Magnus graduated to adult leagues at the young age of 13. Magnus excelled at this task and gained money which his mother forced him to place in savings for college. At the age of 16, Magnus won a major match, in which he also suffered a crippling concussion, which still has some effect on him today. After this, Magnus enrolled in Cambridge College, majoring in Biology with a minor in Marine Science.

Magnus continued his search for the monster of Balbriggan Lake even during his college years, his interests attracting Foundation attention. After graduation, on a trip to Venice, he was recruited into the Foundation to be employed in Site-77 as a scientist.
