Larry Eppson

Basic Info:

Player: Scantron/Shrek

Position: Saboteur, undercover agent.

Demeanor: Habitual liar and ruseman. That is — whatever he wants it to be. Tends towards politeness and reasonableness… when he wants to.

Nature: Former subject of human experimentation. Vaguely a prima donna. Sensitive and a bit insecure. Identity issues.

Description: 5'10", somewhat on the skinny side, short hair. The hair is brownish and his race is ambiguous; in any case, these are all liable to being covered up by disguises of varying nature. A large, thick, X-shaped scar runs across his abdomen.

Specialty Skills:

You have twelve points to distribute among as many or as few specialty skills as you see fit (but at least three is almost always warranted). Remember to explain what each specialty entails.

  • Actor: 5. Larry is apparently a trained actor, being capable of putting on different personas, using different accents, remembering lines, and improvising.
  • Saboteur: 4. Larry is trained in techniques of sabotage, both technical and social — he can render mechanical and electrical devices malfunctional or inoperative, and with misinformation and forgery he can throw social arrangements into disarray.
  • Disguise Artist: 3. Larry is skilled in putting together disguises, between clothing, wigs, accessories, and makeup, and wearing them to good effect. This is the case both for his personal disguise kit and for improvised situations.

Possessions:

List everything your character carries on their person here. Be reasonable.

  • Pistol and ammo of some sort.
  • Pen and paper.
  • Dark Sunglasses: +4 Intim vs. Nonenemy Civilian
  • Water bottle, containing water. He stays hydrated as fuck. To the point where you'd think it would almost be unhealthy, but it apparently isn't.

And everything that they keep in their room at Site 19. Anything that's not listed here or in the section above will be difficult for the character to retrieve.

  • Extensive makeup kit and clothing collection, suitable for a wide range of disguises.
  • Various souvenir props of no practical use.
  • Personal radio, personal television.
  • A decent number of science fiction books, both newer and older.

Personal History:

Larry Eppson's early life is a mystery — between his work with secretive organizations and personal efforts to this effect, it's unclear what documentation pertaining to him is real, if any. He's given numerous stories about his early life and real name; ultimately, it was unclear which, if any, was true.

In any case, there is good evidence that, for the duration of World War II, he was a street performer in Chicago, working as a mime. However, after inadvertently falling over and crushing a small child to death (a feat which he has been unable to replicate), he disappeared. He turns up again in 1947 in Japan, performing with various acting troupes and (possibly) posing as a local; this lasts until 1949, until he finds employment with Marshall, Carter, and Dark as a spy and saboteur, for which he received special training. Throughout this time he used multiple disguises.

In 1956, he defected to the Foundation "for the hell of it". He is, naturally, supervised closely, because he sounds like a total double agent and it definitely seems like something he'd do. However, he has disrupted one significant MC&D auction as a sign of loyalty.

Medical examinations suggest that he was subject to repeated invasive surgeries and exposure to several novel chemicals sometime after 1931 and no later than 1938. His brain's electrical activity is also substantially higher than the average person, though it's not clear whether it's still in the range of normalcy. His body temperature is about 0.5 degrees Fahrenheit higher than average.

Miscellaneous:

'Larry Eppson' is a self-admitted pseudonym deriving from 'lorem ipsum'. He also claims to have popularized lorem ipsum, but is either unable or unwilling to verify this. He is fluent in English, Italian, French, German, and Japanese.

Is generally uneasy around biologists and representatives of the United States federal government. Lactose intolerant, though that concept isn't in the public consciousness yet.

Personas:

Larry has been known to take on various personas as he finds interesting or necessary. The following have been used with the possibility of re-use:

Carl Martin: Medium-length blond hair and pale skin, typically dressed in a business suit and using a cane, late 30s. Claims to be an engineer, Canadian accent, enthusiastic and sociable, likes to talk.

Larry Masterson: Late 20s. Thin-rimmed glasses that require frequent readjustment. Clean gray jumpsuit, clean black boots. May or may not have a 'LARRY' nametag. Mild Boston accent, stutters, has trouble with eye contact, curious and friendly. Claims to be an engineer.

Patrick McCallister: Mid-20s, slightly tanned skin, longer dark hair, casual clothing. A layer of perma-stubble and somewhat bloodshot eyes. Non-confrontational, casual demeanor, works hard & long and eats a lot. Forgets or mispronounces words sometimes. South Texas accent.

Jaxon Steele: Unkempt brown hair, bronze skin, thick-rim glasses, often wearing a dark blue trenchcoat. Mid-30s. Smokes. Raspy voice, soft demeanor, not terribly talkative. Mostly honest about his employment. Doesn't smile much, looks awkward when he does.

Agent Larry: Larry dressed in a relatively tight shirt and pants, but not so tight as to be scandalous. No makeup, wigs, etc. A pistol in a holster and a water bottle clipped to a carabeener are on his belt. Could be anywhere from mid-twenties to mid-thirties. Professional, follows orders, takes things seriously, but can get a little snippy and irritable.

Note that all personas are, unless described otherwise, carrying Larry's steel water bottle.
