Position: Researcher of the Eldritch

Demeanor: With the fact that she's looking at the floor by default and her semi shuffling gait, Janice seems constantly scared and like she wants to just not be her. During combat, she prefers to hide behind the meatiest ally or the best cover and hope that nobody aims at her. Howevee, she is still not above shooting back at the enemy once she's in the relative safety of cover.

Nature: Regret. Janice is constantly regretting the life choices that ended up with her being here. She's got a love/hate relationship with the subject of her specialty. On one hand, it's something that not many can pull off. On the other hand, it's left her mind fractured and bent.

You have eight points to distribute among as many or as few specialty skills as you see fit (but at least three is almost always warranted). Remember to explain what each specialty entails.

  • Mind Fortress: 4. From years of researching things that man should not know, Janice's mind has been warped and changed to be able to handle such trials. Janice gains a +2 against effects that makes Janice lose control of herself, and automatically wins against a mental effect if she critsucceeds the roll, regardless of numbers. This spec also allows Janice to roll against effects you typically can't roll against.
  • Studious Discipline: 1. Janice's field of study falls into what's considered beyond these stars and minds. Knowledge skills related to 'Eldritch' and topics of space are considered trained intelligence based skills.
  • Mental Buffer: 2. If you go into Janice's field of research, you either have a strong mind or your career and sanity ends quick. When Janice takes mdamage from an anomalous source, she can reduce it by two.
  • Protect Me!: 1. Janice is… not a combatant. A good shot sure, but she does not like combat. Instead of attacking, she can spend a turn hiding behind an ally or cover. If a target targets Janice while she's doing this, she gains a +1 to defense rolls and allows her to use resilience against any nonmental action or attack. If they target her meatshield, Janice gains a free attack against the enemy.
