Izel Bunting

!!!UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!!

aka please don't murder me it's not finished yet

Basic Info:

Player: Avocadonut

Position: Nutritional Anthropologist / Chef

Demeanor: Optimistic, curious, general expression would probably be 'fierce smile.'

Nature: Izel has a genuine love for exploration and discovery. She understands that everyone in the world has some new piece of information she might add to her repertoire, so she's careful to listen more than talk. She's always chasing the high that comes with having one's worldview shifted dramatically, even if it sometimes means ignoring Occam's Razor in the process. She's incredibly intelligent, but also rather naive.

Izel is impulsive, but also doesn't do well under pressure; this results in scenarios where she'll rush headlong into situations and be stuck not knowing what to do or even what's going on in the first place.

Izel has largely abandoned her anthropology work in favor of advancing her culinary skills, but draws upon her experience with other cultures to produce meals that don't always taste good, but are certainly unique.

Description: Izel is in her early 20s. She has brown hair and eyes, dark skin, and a sturdy build. She sports a buzz cut, and a persistent aversion to makeup. She switches between mens and womens clothing whenever it's convenient, but the cargo pants are constant.

  • But Still A Chef: 6. Izel is, at the end of the day, a chef. And hopefully, she will never be anything else. (+6 to all rolls involving food/drink, excepting previous spec)

Personal History:

List what your character's life has been like, from birth until 1957. The more, the better. Be sure that all of your character's skills (especially specialties) are explained. Higher skills need more justification.

Izel was born in Florida in 1934, to a working class family who did their best for her in regards to education. She's always had a natural curiosity and desire for information, no matter what that information is or where it comes from. She always liked food, and the concept of combining known information to get new information, so cooking was a natural fit for her personality.

She served as a cook on several anthropology expeditions through her late teen years, acquiring an interest in the culinary practices of other cultures. She met a mentor in the form of an older woman looking to pass on her knowledge and skills, who vouched for Izel's college entry. She received her degree in 1955 and entered the field more fully the following year, with several expeditions to South America.

After a couple of years, her disgust at the sexism of her peers reached its peak, and she decided to leave and seek employment in the private sector. Thus begins her time in the fledgling SCP Foundation, having never even seen one anomaly before this.

Languages

Any languages your character speaks. English is required. Languages should be justified by background or academics.

  • English
  • Passable French
  • "Where is the bathroom?" in 37 different languages (it helps to be prepared!)

Miscellaneous:

Any other information you think would be interesting. Any sections you wish to add to your character sheet (inter-character relationships, pictures, achievements, etc.) go here.

  • Izel keeps in regular contact with her father, and considers him to be her role model.
  • She does not use cookbooks. She recognizes their inherent value as textbooks, but does not believe in following their instructions.
  • She started out using guns as a child, when her father thought it necessary to teach her the importance of basic self-defense. Almost immediately after this, Izel's father lost his right middle toe. Shortly after this, Izel's father thought it necessary to teach her the importance of basic trigger discipline. (she's gotten much better since)
