Demeanor: Generally pleasant to be around. Henry holds himself to a high standard of courtesy and action, and prefers to use words over violence.

Nature: Henry is genuinely a good person who enjoys westerns and holds himself to a high standard of honor. He believes his word is bond and would never willingly betray any promise he's made, verbal or otherwise. He's also never one to fire the first shot, or even unholster his weapon unless he was out of options.

Description: 5'9", Greying black hair, dull brown eyes. Has a well-waxed handlebar mustache and carries around an old revolver.

  • Silver Tongue: 3 Often times keeping the peace isn't about who's got the biggest gun, but who's got the biggest mouth. Henry is practiced in the art of speechcraft and and can convince even the hardest outlaw to lay down their weapon. (+3 to INTIM to first roll against hostile enemy when his gun is drawn. +3 to rolls against non-hostile person that decays by -1 per use.)
  • Quickdraw: 3 Sometimes words can fail, and when tensions are high, you don't want to be the first to end up with a bullet in you. Being the first to draw helps. (The first time an enemy that Henry is aware of attacks him, he automatically gets the first shot for +3 to Ranged. Only applies to the first encounter)
  • Deadeye: 3 Henry is a surgeon with a pistol, having practiced tricks for hours in his childhood. While this skill is impressive, it doesn't have many practical combat applications. (+3 Ranged to shoot non-living, non-combative targets)
  • Do Not Go Gentle: 3 When the chips are down and your life is on the line, it's sheer force of will that'll keep you alive. (+3 to Pdef/Mdef when at or below 3 Phealth)

Personal History:

Henry Gideon Woodward was born on April 10th, 1910 in Austin, Texas, to parents George and Frances Woodward.

From an early age Henry grew up with a love for Westerns and Cowboys, to the point that his room was covered with movie posters and his childhood was filled with toy gunfights and visits to wild west sideshows when they came to town.

When the call to war came in 1939, Henry was excited to finally be setting off on his own adventure, enlisting as soon as he could. The constant battles and fear of death changed his opinion of the lifestyle of a soldier, however, and through the war he became increasingly pacifist in his ideals. There would be times nearing the end of the war where the Germans were becoming increasingly desperate that he would refuse to fire a shot in favor of convincing the enemy to lay down their arms, with varying results.

After the war was seen through, he decided to settle down and join the Wild West sideshow he had enjoyed so much as a child. With them, he travelled across America, making friends and entertaining audiences with his tricks and easygoing charm.

He would probably have been doing this for the rest of his life if fate hadn't dictated his life take a different turn. A wendigo snuck into the middle of a performance in Kansas, threatening the audience as it stalked the bleachers. Deftly, Henry severely wounded the creature. which ran off. He managed to convince the audience it was part of the act, continuing the act as he did normally.

A local task force caught up with the wounded creature and was able to successfully contain it thanks to his efforts, offering him a job in favor of amnesticizing him…
