Personal History:

Franklin Carpenter was born in 1910 into an upper class family. Carpenter experienced a mundane childhood before going to Stanford University to receive a Bachelor's degree in Biology. However, his family fell on hard times in the Great Depression, and Carpenter decided to join the military to serve in World War II. His steady head and sniping expertise were developed here. After the war, he was recruited by the Foundation. He accepted, with hopes of eventually being able to use his knowledge of biology to become a researcher.
