Personal History:

Growing up with an eccentric Grandfather who was obsessed with the occult, Emmett spent many of his childhood years learning about eldritch creatures and subjects that spooked him for decades before he learned to embrace the odd. When his Grandfather passed early into Boyce's childhood, he took up studies on his own. After serving in WWII for several years in intelligence gathering for the OSS, he returned to school and furthered his education in theology and the unknown. Studying under a linguist to help guide him through his studies into other cultures and their religions, earning his PHD in Theology, with a focus on Christian-Judeo mythology and a minor interest in historical artifacts.

Working under a professor whom he favored for several years, Boyce learned of several facts about the world that he thought long since faded into mystery. Significant artifacts of lore still resided around the world, and he would occasionally come across one when an eager explorer would call him to assist deciphering its contents or origins. His focus in Christian-Judeo mythology allowed him to study several fascinating objects and trinkets, many of which seemed to disappear from record shortly after he determined its history to be either true or false.

During the summer of 1958 he was approached by foundation personnel to assist in translating a parchment found in the temple of █████ in ███████, Jerusalem. Within several days he was able to do so, allowing foundation personnel to intercept ███████ before it appeared again. He was brought on to assist full-time to investigate anomalous artifacts and entities.
