Demeanor: Birkin is a hard-ass, rule-book-throwing man due his service with the United States Air Force. He lives by quite a few different creeds, but those sharing day-to-day with him might only know one- ‘Do no harm, take no shit.’

Nature: Elias is soft somewhere deep inside, but he has yet to let anyone outside of his wife and daughter see him as such. Despite being so by-the-book, if you’re on his good side, he might just forget said book.

Description: Brown-and-grey hair, brown eyes with crows’ feet, close shave stubble. Usually in uniform or PT gear. Sour expression most of the time despite the situation. 6'0 tall, around 202 lbs- a worker's physique.

Accelerator: 3. Following Birken's introduction to the Foundation's R&D team, he's secretly worked on his own project: the AC3L Auto-injector- with some of help from the bigger eggheads, of course. (Following injection, the target PC will gain +3 to either Athletics, Resilience, or Acrobatics immediately, which will then fade by -1 every combat turn. The affected PC will roll a d1 at the end of the buff- If a 0 is rolled, the PC goes into Crash, and loses -2 to the selected stat for an additional 2 turns. 3 shots per run.)

So That Others May Live: 3. (If Birken can reach a 0PHP PC in one turn, he can sacrifice the following turn to revive the target back to a guaranteed 1PHP assuming GM fiat is 0PHP results in KO. If GM fiat is 0PHP results in Death, Birken will sacrifice two turns to revive to 1PHP. If these turns are interrupted at any point, the revival is cancelled and the PC remains KO'd / Dead.)

Personal History:

Elias Birken was born to Rev. ███████ and ███████ Birken of ███████, Georgia, United States in December 1946. Despite being told of his potential as a lawyer or politician, young Eli set his heart on helping others through medicine; he finally got his chance in 1963, during his enlistment with the United States Air Force to fight in Vietnam.

In the following years of going up the ladder with the Air Force, Birken eventually set his sights on a career in Pararescue. Airman Birken would later put his own life on the line many times for his fellow man so that they may live another day. He would carry this back home to his civilian life following the full withdrawal of the US from the Vietnam conflict in 1973.

After returning home, Elias was eventually driven into depression following the 'welcome' party that awaited him. Following a long struggle with various on-and-off habits and the subsequent therapies, he went back to school to begin a hopeful career as a general surgeon. Around 1978, he began work with a local hospital as a trauma surgeon, and also married his college sweetheart. All seemed to be coming up Birken.

An outbreak of Viral Agent A01█████- better known as '█████████████'- in 1980 saw that Birken was drafted into the Foundation alongside other doctors and first responders that had encountered and attempted containment of the outbreak in the United States' southeast.

Miscellaneous:

Birkin, thanks to his wife, is fluent in Italian.
