Demeanor: Cailley is the Postal Service of unnecesary optimism: through rain, hail or shine, they'll be there to deliver a cheery, up-beat viewpoint of the events going on around them. It's easy to confuse their boundless optimism for ditziness, especially given the fact that they don't exactly have the best attention span — that being said, they're not stupid so much as they are scatterbrained. Immensely, unnaturally and possibly unnervingly so.

Nature: Pretty much as per their demeanor. While internally they feel a little greyer than their behaviour would suggest, they don't let the amnestic haze they see the world through affect their own propensity for apparently bottomless cheer.

Description: Cailley's a green-eyed brunette of average height and build with naturally wavy brown hair that's typically been tied back. They look fairly youngish, with a dusting of freckles over the bridge of their nose, and this androgynous appearance helps them pass as whatever they feel like being at any given moment. Whenever out in public or even just around base, they tend to swap between two main outfits depending on which way they feel like presenting:

  • "Kay": Sweater vest, button-up shirt and cream-coloured slacks. Might occasionally swap out the sweater vest for something less dorky and/or more formal.
  • "Cailley": A long-sleeved blouse, a pleated skirt and stockings. During more formal occasions, they'll swap out the blouse for a suit or blazer in an attempt to look less sloppy.

Their name, birthdate and another name ("Rasa Beckett") have been tattooed on the wrist of their left arm.

  • We Are Your Friends: (3) Cailley's not just good at talking people into seeing their point of view, but their disarming friendliness also makes it more likely that those they've talked to will be more likely to listen to other members of their party.
    • When Cailley succeeds on a Persuasion roll against an opposing NPC, their teammates get a +3 bonus to Persuasion rolls made against that NPC. This bonus decays by 1 every time it's invoked, and can only be renewed when it decays to 0.
  • The Hidden Blade: (3) Before they joined the Foundation, Cailley distinctly remembers being trained as an illusionist, and damned if their talent for drawing people's attention don't back that reputation up.
    • In a situation where Cailley would require Sneak, if they could reasonably set up an appropriate distraction they may roll Bluff against an opposing NPC's Perception: provided they succeed, that NPC becomes distracted. Cailley's team gain a +3 to Sneak rolls made against distracted NPCs for as long as the distraction lasts.
    • Example: Cailley's team are trying to Sneak past a guard loitering outside a building. Cailley finds a glass bottle that they can use to draw the guard's attention, and they roll Bluff against the guard's Perception to get him to fall for it: they succeed, and the GM rules the distraction lasts for a turn. Cailley's team then get a +3 bonus to Sneak for that turn.
  • Convincingly Clueless: (3) Feigning ignorance is very easy when even you aren't sure as to whether or not you know something.
    • Instead of rolling 4df+Bluff when trying to feign ignorance, Cailley rolls 2df+Bluff+2 (i.e. 2 of the 4 fudge dice are counted as +.)
  • Anomalous: Amnesia Was Her Name: (3) Cailley's lungs have been modified to include a gland that produces an incredibly potent amnestic gas that she can, at will, breathe out instead of your normal human's carbon dioxide.
    • When in Melee distance with an opposing NPC, Cailley can roll 4df+3 to hit them with a burst of amnestics. In the case the NPC is actively opposing Cailley, they may roll Agility to dodge the gas or Mental Defense to withstand its effects.
    • In the case Cailley succeeds against their roll, that NPC takes a penalty of -2 to Mental Defense as a result of having their ability to form short-term memories temporarily disabled. That NPC also gets a +1 bonus to rolls made to contest Cailley's effect the next time they try to use it.
    • The duration for which the effect lasts increases with the roll. A critfail causes Cailley to choke on their own amnestic breath and suffer -0.5 Physical Health damage, as well as auto-fail the contest against the NPC's Agility/Mental Defense.
  • Disadvantage: Just Say Know: Of course, having potent amnestic chemicals swimming around your bloodstream also means that their memory has been affected quite a lot.
    • Cailley is incredibly forgetful, which manifests mechanically in the form of a -3 debuff to Academics, Science, Engineering and Medical. In order to temporarily overcome this debuff, Cailley must roll a 4df — on a +2 or above, they temporarily overcome their memory haze and can roll without a debuff.
    • In addition, they might also be unable to remember cover stories, important information about suspects, or even who their teammates are. GMs may make Cailley roll Mental Defense to try and remember information from earlier on the run that other players would be able to remember automatically.
