Atticus Wright

Player: ArseneLupin

Position: Timeworn Detective

Demeanor: A young man who's all smiles and loves poking fun at people and getting a good laugh. Although as he ages forward he can tend to be a bit grouchy.

  • Spinning Hands(Anomaly) 4: To most people time flows in one direction, but Atticus isn’t most people. He may use this to rewind and fast forward time on objects, at some personal effect to him.

  • OBJECTION!: 2. Atticus is used to pulling the truth out of people when he catches them lying, it's part of the job. When Atticus successfully uses Insight to catch someone lying he may treat that Insight roll as an Intimidate roll to make someone tell the truth related to that lie.

Personal History:

Atticus Wright was born in 1900 to a loving home in Brooklyn to a mom and dad he would unfortunately outlive by a large margin. His mother was a loving housewife while his father was a businessman, never telling his family exactly what he did. Years later Atticus would investigate and find his father was a part of a cult that worshiped thaumaturgy. He always had a nose for getting into danger, and dragging himself out of it. Unfortunately his father would always make sure he was punished thoroughly for any trouble he caused with time spent in his father's study, where his father would not beat him, but rather force him to ingest strange liquids that always made Atticus sick.
The knack for danger never left him however and Atticus himself would say that's to thank for him getting drafted into WWI. It was here that he would be dragged through the mud both figuratively and literally. The horrors of war left more than a few mental scars on Atticus, but the largest impact it had was when a grenade was thrown into the trench he was inhabiting at the time. The explosion killed 2 of his friends and left him trapped under rubble and dirt, slowly bleeding out. It was then that the strange concoctions his father forced upon him finally had the desired effect. Thaumaturgy. Atticus rewound the time on the rubble, leaving it back in place while he was 10 years older. He got medical attention as fast as possible, getting a few strange looks from looking a tad older than they remembered, but it was dismissed as crazy talk.
He would be discharged due to these injuries and sent home where he would experiment with these abilities of his, leaning the correlation between the effect he has on objects and his own age. Eventually he would leave his hometown and see the world, exploring every continent and indulging his knack for trouble and curiosity when he had a chance until the 50s where he came back to the US and started taking on odd jobs and investigations, using his powers in creative and subtle ways to figure out the crimes and cases he picked up.
Eventually he would pick up a partner in crime(solving) that he trusted. Finally he was picked up on by the Foundation who offered him a job dealing with the strange things he found from time to time. He thought this would be interesting enough so he accepted. After an investigation from The Foundation to make sure he wasnt a danger to time itself and he didnt need to be contained for the safety of the universe.

Miscellaneous:

Speaks enough English, Mandarin, Russian, and German to be able to hold conversations. (He has had a LOT of free time.)

Loot

VERITAS: An improvement on 1950s Foundation tech, this VERITAS is more powerful than predecessors but also in the form of a hand-held counter rather than a head-mounted display. Can give readings of background levels of thaumic radiation (which, sadly, only covers a certain subsection of anomalies) and tell you if an EVE-manipulator is a reality warper, thaumaturge, or neither given a biological sample.
