Anton Järvinen

Agent Järvinen, c. 1983

Player: Aphex_

Position: Infiltration & Negotiations Specialist

Demeanor: Järvinen acts like, and occasionally is, a spook. The man rarely talks unless he either finds the topic important or the situation requires otherwise. There supposedly is a temper somewhere underneath his professionalism, but so far it has not come out while on Site-15.

Nature: In order to keep himself and his temper in check, Anton engages himself in a variety of hobbies and activities. He also engages in a variety of meditative techniques, both mental and physical.

Description: Standing 182cm at 77.2kg, Järvinen is in fairly good health, bordering athletic despite looking older than he is. In terms of facial features, he could be considered fairly hawkish, given his large nose in-particular. Typically sports a full, neatly-trimmed beard to combat his balding.

Specialties
  • "Kotisirkka": 3. Anton's primary tool of infiltration is an interesting one- a Foundation-created handheld exothermic torch, nicknamed 'Cricket' due to the noises it makes when lighting and in-use. The torch itself is useful for cutting through wood, steel, and other various 'soft' materials. (Anton is given the ability to breach through soft surfaces (most walls, some doors, various materials) if the torch's load is balanced correctly; this will be measured by a 4df+3, with the DC being 4 to properly breach. Lower rolls are up to GM fiat on results. Three uses per run.)
  • Kotini: 2. Part of the training with the Jääkäriprikaati included the conducting of warfare in the coldest of winter climates. (+2 to Survival in climates that have snow, reach sub-zero temperatures, or are otherwise cold-climate related.)
  • Dead-Man: 3. Järvinen's training extends to even the more niche aspects of combat- including convincing opposing forces that he has died. (If Anton can convince an enemy that he has died (using a Stealth roll), he gains an additional +1 damage to any sneak attack done to OPFOR that investigate his body.)

Personal History:

Anton was born to the Järvinen family in December of 1934, following the return of his father from Russia. Growing up during war-time was tumultuous for the young Finn, but was not exactly shaking. Once he reached eighteen years of age, he was conscripted into the Army in 1952.

During his time with the Army, Järvinen began to realize part of his calling as a survivalist and hunter- this also was noticed by his superiors, earning him a promotion to the Jääkäriprikaati as a survival instructor at the turn of year in 1960.

After teaching and assisting in numerous operations, Anton retired from the Jääkäriprikaati in 1972; after a year of keeping himself busy in other places, he returned to Finland and joined the Poliisi in 1973, later joining the Special Intervention Unit in '74.

Following a run-in with the Foundation in 1982 during Incident 01-███████-A, Järvinen and three other individuals in the 'Bear Squad' were invited to join the Foundation due to their actions during the event.

Miscellaneous:

Järvinen is multilingual, currently speaking and writing Finnish and Swedish fluently, with English and Russian having varying degrees of fluency.
