Demeanor: Alyssa is a cheerfully bruised character who's perenially optimistic to the point of obliviousness in the face of almost every attempt by the universe to rain on her parade. Trusting to a fault and as firm with her beliefs as she is with her handshakes, Alyssa has an unshakeable work ethic and a firm belief in the Foundation as a power that holds the world together where anomalies threaten to shake it apart.

Nature: Naturally kind and willing to power through whatever life throws at her, Alyssa is more than aware of the effect that the job has on the people before her, and as such a lot of her time is spent debating morals in the confines of her own head. This gives her a surprisingly thoughtful internal working for someone who's most often seen steamrolling through life on auto-pilot.

Description: Alyssa is a muscular and somewhat taller than normal woman with tawny-coloured skin and a thick braid of dark brown-to-auburn hair falling to the small of her back. On-site, she's typically found in an engineer's overalls, slacks and boots, working on various containment maintenance tasks and helping out with the design process for containment procedures themselves. In the field, she wears a thick leather jacket and somewhat casual clothing to help make her look less threatening.

As a result of her fleshcrafting abilities, Alyssa's skin feels somewhat viscous to the touch and more spongy than it rightfully should be. Hugs may leave a trace of slightly sticky residue on whatever you're wearing and let's not even get started on hand shakes.

  • Safe and Sound: (3) Alyssa's main specialty as a containment officer is using her personality to talk someone into coming back to them the peaceful way.
    • Alyssa gets a +3 bonus to Persuasion when trying to talk opposing combatants into standing down.
  • Cover Band: (3) Whether it's stopping stuff from getting out or stopping stuff from getting in, Alyssa's job is to stop things from breaking other things. To this end, she's developed a knack for reinforcing things with what she can.
    • Alyssa can construct cover or barricade entryways with appropriate materials found in the field by using a base Engineering roll. Higher rolls mean she can do this quicker. Depending on what she's trying to do:
      • Anyone hiding behind her constructed cover gets a +1 bonus to PDef against Ranged attacks while the cover holds. The cover constructed has a Physical Health of 0.5 + (Engineering roll / 4), and Ranged attacks that miss the person hiding behind it instead hit the cover for equivalent Physical Health.
      • A barricade prevents an opponent from moving through it until it's dismantled via a Strength check against a DC of 3 + (Engineering Roll / 2).
  • Bare-Metal Minimum: (3) Self-confessedly not someone with a bookish streak, Alyssa's only knowledge of the occult extends to things you can use against them. Luckily, you don't have to know the history of vampires to stake one through the heart.
    • When trying to contain anomalies resembling folklore entities such as fae and werewolves, Alyssa can roll Engineering instead of Academics rolls made in these situations.
  • Anomalous: [No Shape]: (3) Her shapeshifter heritage skipped a generation, but not entirely. While she's not capable of pulling off the polymorphic stunts that her mother was capable of, a mixture of inborn talent and Foundation-honed instinct has taught her a few tricks.
    • Alyssa gets a +2 Physical Defense against attacks that pierce her skin, e.g. bullet wounds and knife stabs as a result of her elasticised body.
    • In addition, Alyssa can hide up to three compact objects such as knives, screwdrivers and folded documents in her body by absorbing them into an extradimensional space under her epidermal layer.
  • Disadvantage: [Melt Yourself Down]: Being a rubbery mass of fleshgoop, needless to say, does indeed have its downsides.
    • Given the utterly insane nature of her body's composition, Medical rolls targetting her have a -3 penalty.
    • For every two Physical Health she loses over the course of the run, she loses the ability to store 1 object in that extradimensional space: if she's storing more than the new maximum allows her to, one object of her choosing gets vomited out of her body in a process that's exactly as disgusting as you'd think it would be.
