Specialties

You have twelve points to distribute among as many or as few specialty skills as you see fit (but at least three is almost always warranted). Remember to explain what each specialty entails.

  • Ojo del Espectador: 4 The art of photography consists of three things; timing, lighting, and composition. It helps to keep an eye out for the perfect shot. (+4 to visual Perception in well-lit areas. Bonus decays by -2 per use.)
  • Como un ladrón en la noche: 4 When trespassing, it's usually a good idea not to get caught… (After every successful sneak roll, Alejandra gains +1 to her sneak to a maximum of +4. This bonus is lost if any subsequent sneak roll is failed.)
  • Se supone que debo estar aquí, juro: 4 … but sometimes getting caught is unavoidable. In those cases it's useful to come up with something, quickly. (+2 to Persuasion or Bluff during the first encounter against aggressive opponents. +4 if Alejandra has a prepared cover story. Decays by -2 per turn.)

Personal History:

Alejandra Cavallero was born on August 2nd, 1928 in Barcelona, Spain. Growing up, she was subjected to the increasingly volatile tensions of her country in political crisis. In 1937 Alejandra's mother took both of them overseas to Britain in order to spare her from the inevitable civil war.

Although initially frightened and confused, Alejandra soon became accustomed to living in the large refugee camp in North Stoneham. It was here that she received her schooling, learning English and excelling in her studies, especially history. A longing to see the world grew in her as she read of the monuments and natural formations that lie across the globe.

Eventually she took to photography and journalism, studying hard to become a reporter after reading the exciting and interesting stories about the war. It wasn't easy to find a newspaper that would hire her as she was, in fact, an immigrant and a woman, but she eventually proved her mettle and was hired onto the Daily Express as a regular photographer.

She finally got her wish to see the world 1950, when she was assigned to be an assistant for the war correspondent in Korea. Eager to prove herself, she took pictures of everyone and everything, convinced that that people wanted the true story of what war was like.

Most of her pictures ended up being rejected, however. The article was more propaganda than anything else, and when she returned home she was thoroughly disillusioned with the idea of being a reporter if she couldn't tell the whole truth. Quitting her job, she decided to travel the world with what money she had saved up and bring people the truth that way.

For a time, she travelled across Europe, getting into trouble and seeing the monuments and landmarks with her own eyes. Her journey came to a sudden stop in 1957 when she stumbled across a certain blacksite in Italy…
