| Photograph of Al prior to joining the Foundation. |
Player: Balthazaar/ Balth
Position: Retired cowboy/ bullshitter.
Demeanor: Generally kind, if irritable, Al is a true product of a long life full of crime. He comes off as a charismatic man, and is prone to dark moods with lots of swearing. Drops all pretenses of civility when he's had enough shit.
Nature: Albert is a nice enough, if somewhat irritable individual. Pretty strongly libertarian, he isn't impressed with the government at all. Tends to look back on his youth frequently and fondly, but not enough to forget what's happening in the present. At his core though is the same ruthless man that made him such a successful criminal, waiting for another chance to come out and do his thing.
Description: Could be described as long dark and ugly, Albert is 71 years old, standing tall and still in good shape for his age. Deep tan, longish dark grey hair and what could be described as a gunslingers mustache and goatee are well in evidence. Al likes to wear three piece suits and a sour expression.
After Revival, Albert looks to be in better shape than before, and looking to be in his 50's. His hair now has no grey, and he no longer wear reading glasses.

- On the trail: 3. it's been a long time, but Albert spent most of his young life living in the untamed west. This has left him with skills enough to survive in the wild, but he has forgotten a fair bit of it over the years.

Personal History:
Albert (or Al as he is also known) was born to a couple of road agents in 1883, and was raised into a live of robbery, gunfights and mayhem. He lived his early life running with the gang robbing coaches and trains for years, even marrying one Jane Root,(Divorced in 1930) resulting in a handful of kids, until they disbanded in 1912 due to the ever encroaching spread of civilization.
Al then took his life to the city of Chicago, where he lived for a time. During this time he managed to get himself into the organized crime in the area, not really having any skills for more respectable work at the time.
Albert flourished in this line of work, so much so that his connections managed to keep him out of the Great War. Al's next break came when prohibition hit, where he took advantage of the widespread desire for booze, which became his specialty in that line of work.
He continued this life until he basically had enough of it in 1942, having managed to avoid the next big war as well.
After this he settled down to a farm where he trapped, hunted and made moonshine for the local population. However this wouldn't last. In 1954, the government caught up with Albert for his (Various) past crimes, and he was offered two choices. A visit to old sparky, or working with a relatively new Foundation.
After several months work with the Foundation, Al found himself kidnapped and forced into a state worse than death, where he was essentially a robotic construct serving the will of the resurrected Bowe. In this state he underwent several missions, before being forced to kill Laura Moodie before himself being killed properly by PSI-12
Miscellaneous:
Al stands around 6'1" and is rather broad. tends to dress in dusty old road suits. Never without his guns. Still holds the government in disdain after years of basically being screwed by them.
As far as personality goes, Albert is a nice enough guy, but is very down to earth and foul mouthed. His years as a road agent and later gangster have given him a rather cut throat attitude too. He can have a bit of a temper, however, he is akin to a kindly grandfather to those he cares about.
* Update: As of the Bowe incident, Albert has regressed a bit towards his old ways. This has made him quite a bit more calculating, cold, and irritable. He'll hide that from those he's close with, but at least for now isn't the same kindly old grandfather he used to be.
Always happy to tell you a story, mostly about the old west. Probably too happy to tell his stories really.
Likes kids, as they remind him of being a young father, plus they're pretty entertaining.
Is an accomplished horse rider, but an awful driver.
Likes a drink. A lot.
Decent singing voice.
Has at 5 grown children (That he knows of). Four daughters and a son.
- Youngest daughter (Emily Van Der Linde, 26) is a hopeful actress working at a diner in New York. field agent located at Site 19.

- Twin middle daughters (Alma Taylor and Cheryl Fehn, both 37) run a diner with their husbands (Chistopher Taylor and James Fehn) in Iowa.

Albert hates Amos Gilmoure, his eldest daughter's (Elizabeth) husband, after he fathered her first child out of wedlock.
Dotes on his children and grandchildren, enjoying giving them gifts and spending time with them.
Not on speaking terms with his ex wife, Jane.
Relationships:
- Pauline Wisniewski: Very smart. A good woman, is Pauline, She helped me when I was suffering an over abundance of alchohol.
- Just found out she died. World's already a sadder place for it.
- Harley Newclear: Not too bad for a cop. I'd actually consider him a friend, he just needs to mature a bit more. I'll be watching him around Emily.
- Harley could be a potential ally in the future.
- Gone. God knows where too, but that's that.
- Luvi M. Harkess: I didn't like this kid when I met him. Far too angry. Far too violent. But I don't know, he loves Laura, and he seems to be settling down. Looks a lot like Seth, which is good to see.
- I worry about Luvi, he never seems to be happy… And what if he hurts Laura?
- Broke up with Laura and defected to Omega-7. He'd best have a damn good reason behind that.
- Vaguely remember him in the time I was in Omega. Hope he went down with the rest.
- Serge Maillard: Serge is one of the best men I know. Honourable, kind, smart. He's been through hell, so I'd like to help him. Emily says he's been good to her, so that definitely puts him in the good books.
- He needs to either grow a real moustache, or shave that one off
- Ever since a thing that looked like our mothers came and we had to shoot it together, I feel like I should watch out for him.
- Boy is good to Laura and Emily. That's good enough for me.
- Gone, after a lot of hardship apparently. Shame, I'll miss him.
- Laura Moodie: Laura is the daughter I never had… She's one of the best women I know, And I'll do anything she asks of me.
- Laura is now my daughter, basically.
- Apparently she consoled Emily when she upset about something recently. I'm glad to see my girls getting along.
- I will protect her.
- Someone has done something dreadful to her. I want to help, but I can only do that by removing the person who hurt her, and to do that I must go back. To do that I must stay away from her for now.
- Laura is back, and happy again. I will never let anything like that happen to her again.
- I'm so sorry… I'm so so sorry…
- Katie Moodie: Katie is a wonderful little addition to my life. Sweetest little girl I've had the pleasure of meeting.
- Loves my stories, and has been calling me Grandpa. I'd defend her with my dying breath.
- I Will protect her.
- Whoever hurt Laura scared Katie. She is worried about her mother, and so she needs a grandfather right now. Probably the only person I may allow myself to open up to at this time.
- I've missed her. It will be good to tell some stories to my favorite granddaughter.
- Learned she disappeared into some kind of wormhole after I… You know. Came back the same age as Emily, and an agent to boot. She's changed and stayed the same, the way all kids do when they grow up. The important thing is that she's still a good person, and that I've been able to help her with some things. I swear to god, nothing will hurt her if I have any power at all to stop it.
- Murray Eichmann: Guy doesn't know what "Goody Gumdrops" means. decent though.
- Not a fan of some of my ideas, need to discuss trust issues with him.
- Good to see him again.
- Emily Van Der Linde: My little girl… I'll do anything for her.
- She learned what I used to do. Things were bad there for a bit, but we discussed things, so I think we're good now. At least I hope so.
- She's been stuttering again lately, and was especially jumpy when I was in her room. I worry about her.
- Emily must be protected, from external threats, and from myself.
- Left the site and married Matt. Apparently she's gone through an unimaginable amount of suffering in my absence. I'll be sure to settle the score for her when I can.
- Professor A. Monday: Monday is a good man. Only guy here that I can really talk to about certain things.
- Met his young daughter… In a box thing. That poor man…
- Also died. Fuck.
- Dr. Ivan Zakharov, PhD: Ivan seems good at what he does, but arrogant.
- Anything that happened between us and a bucket was purely coincidental and means nothing. Nothing.
- Zakharov is a good man, despite his outward iciness. He cares for Laura and Katie, and will go to great lengths to protect them. The very definition of a good man.
- Hates me after what happened. Don't blame him at all, agree with him to boot. But we can't be fighting when it'd upset Katie. Need to try make peace.
- Matt Harrison: This boy is interested in Emily. I don't think he's a bad guy, but I'm going to watch him closely. He best not hurt her.
- Seems to be a good man. I trust him with Emily now.
- Matt could prove to be a possible ally, with enough leverage.
- I think I approve of this boy. Definitely devoted to my girl, and knows how to handle himself from what I hear.
- Now my son in law, and he'd be my favorite one. Hope he takes good care of Emily and gives me a few more grandkids.
- Kevin Winsthrop: If he goes near Emily, Laura or Katie again, I will give him words. If he hurts them, I will give him lead.
- Man was very competent in the field. I don't like him, but I can respect his skill and work.
- I have a begrudging respect for Kevin. He is exceptional in the field, very useful man to have about. Still don't like him though, even if I am no longer inclined to rip his throat out.
- As of the last time I was in the field with him, I retract my previous statement. The man is a hotheaded fool, and I wouldn't trust him as a far as I could throw him.
- Gone from the site but not off the earth, unfortunately
- Captain William Stykes: Dangerous man, enjoys killing, so he's probably quite good at it. Keep an eye on him.
- Undoubtedly dangerous man, not too bright, but surprisingly harmless… To us, anyway. Very good to have him backing me up in a fight.
- The perfect muscle. I may be able to use him in future plans.
- Gone. List of friends grows ever shorter
- F!cking Bowe: Don't I yearn for the days when a draw across the throat made f#!king resolution. Still, one day when the time is right, he will be finding himself in eternal f#!king silence with his guts all over the floor.
- I told the dumb c*nt I'd outlive him. Seeing that he's died had made me a very happy old man.
- Still dead. Hahaha, I win, you pathetic c*nt.
- Lisabet Aina Tande: Rather sickly young woman, but clearly smart as all hell. Could be a possible ally in the future, even if she can't really handle her liquor.
- Proved to be an extremely useful and capable girl, but always seems so lonely.
- Gone too, after much hardship, I hear. I'll genuinely miss the girl, and wish I could've helped her out more in the time I knew her.
- Hermann Austerlitz: Brought me back from the dead, and not as a monster. Good on him.
