Arena Effects

Arena Effects are Variables that in some way change the makeup of the environment to which they are added. They are recovered in a somewhat more complicated way than other variables, with the sample being taken from something representative of the desired Variable. These are generally obtained unexpectedly. Use the form below to write them up, and keep them in a list on this page.

Low Gravity

Description: The natural gravity of an area is made significantly lower. This results in characters being able to move much more freely through the air, and to move objects more easily.
Recovery: Unknown.
Other: +2 to agility, +4 to strength, +2 to melee.


High Gravity

Description: The natural gravity of an area is made significantly higher. This results in characters being much less able to move freely, and much less able to move objects.
Recovery: Unknown.
Other: -2 to agility, -4 to strength, -2 to melee.


High Magic

Description: The area is high in magical energies. Anomalous effects are boosted.
Recovery: Unknown.
Other: +3 to anomalous.


No Magic

Description: The area lacks any magical energies entirely. Anomalous effects are nullified.
Recovery: Unknown.
Other: Anomalous is nullified. Anomalously-powered characters are impaired appropriately.


Extreme Heat

Description: The area is extremely hot, similar to a desert at high noon in the summer.
Recovery: Unknown.
Other: Pdef (Heat Exhaustion) checks should be made after a time.


Extreme Cold

Description: The area is extremely cold, similar to an arctic tundra at midnight in the winter.
Recovery: Unknown.
Other: Pdef (Cold Damage) checks should be made after a time.


Day

Description: The area is in daytime.
Recovery: Unknown.
Other: Only has an effect if the original area was in nighttime.


Night

Description: The area is in nighttime.
Recovery: Unknown.
Other: Only has an effect if the original area was in daytime.


Rain

Description: The area is in the midst of a torrential rainstorm. Visibility is severely hampered.
Recovery: Unknown.
Other: -2 Perception


Fog

Description: The area is covered in a large amount of heavy, low-lying fog.
Recovery: Unknown.
Other: Visibility is reduced, -2 perception.


Hail

Description: The area is assaulted by heavy hail. Ranges from pea to mini-van.
Recovery: Unknown.
Other: Visibility is reduced, movement is hampered by the hail. Small entities should do occasional pdef checks.


Dimensionally Unstable

Description: The area is a fracture in space-time. Land and dimensions bend and flex.
Recovery: Unknown.
Other: Space can distort.


Vehicular Mayhem

Description: Vehicles of various kinds litter the area.
Recovery: Nel pointing a Sampler at Jeeps.
Other: I have no idea why this is a thing.


Winter

Description: Drops the temperature of the Environment to that of mid-winter upstate New York.
Recovery: Foundation testing
Other: Perfect for ice skating; not as cold as the Extreme Cold variable
